ROKEKA RGB vs DMX

ROKEKA RGB technology vs DMX technology

Below are the advantages and disadvantages of ROKEKA RGB technology compared with DMX technology.

A. Compared with DMX technology, ROKEKA RGB technology is a different color control method. ROKEKA RGB technology has the following advantages compared with DMX technology:

A1. ROKEKA RGB products are connected end to end with high flexibility.

ROKEKA RGB is a color mode. ROKEKA RGB products are connected end to end to facilitate layout and expansion in different scenarios. Through series connection, a larger area can be covered. Through a single controller and simple line connection, the color and effect changes of the entire series of products can be uniformly controlled. According to personal preferences and creativity, they can be freely combined simply to meet different personalized needs.

On the other hand, DMX technology is a digital signal control protocol. DMX products are point-controlled and cannot be connected end to end. Each product has a unique address. The controller sets parameters for specific products according to the address to precisely control the state of each product. However, the control method is relatively complex and requires professional personnel to operate and program.

End-to-end connection is the main purpose to the development of ROKEKA RGB products. You can see the VIDEO room to find ROKEKA RGB products used in the Dutch garden center (that is, about 70,000 RGB bulbs are controlled simultaneously by one controller).

A2. ROKEKA RGB products are easy to operate.

ROKEKA RGB color control is usually more intuitive. Rich color changes can be achieved by adjusting the intensities of red, green, and blue. For ordinary users, they can easily start operating without professional knowledge and complex equipment settings. On the contrary, DMX control often requires professional controllers and programming knowledge, and the operation is relatively complex and has higher technical requirements for operators.

A3. ROKEKA RGB products have a lower cost.

A3-1. ROKEKA RGB products are inexpensive. Generally, products such as ROKEKA RGB light strings have relatively low prices and are suitable for mass consumption. While the DMX products requires professional controllers, decoders and other equipment, and the cost is high.

A3-2. For small projects or individual users, choosing ROKEKA RGB products can achieve good lighting effects at a lower cost.

A3-3. For arranging scenes of the same area and using the same number of LEDs, in terms of total cost, ROKEKA RGB products are about 10%-15% of DMX products. For example:

The project where ROKEKA RGB products are used in the Dutch garden center <that is, only one 60A controller can control 700M2 products / 70,000 RGB bulbs simultaneously>, the installation is very simple (just connect it like a regular light string). For an area of 700M2 products, only two people need one day to install it. Moreover, this project does not require daily maintenance.

If the same 700M2 products / 70,000 bulbs are redesigned and manufactured using DMX, the FOB cost will be 5times than ROKEKA RGB products. The installation is very complex. For an area of 700M2 products, at least 15 people need one day to install it. After the completion of this project, special personnel are needed for daily maintenance. Because DMX technology is a complex old technology, its performance is not very stable.

A4. ROKEKA RGB products are very energy-efficient.

For arranging scenes of the same area and using the same number of LEDs, in terms of power consumption, ROKEKA RGB products is about 10% of DMX products. For example:

The project where ROKEKA RGB products are used in the Dutch garden center (that is, about 700M2 products / 70,000 LED bulbs are controlled simultaneously by one controller) has a total power consumption of about 1,2kWh. The input current only needs 5A and there is no need to change any existing circuits of the building.

If the same 700M2 products / 70,000 LED bulbs are controlled by DMX instead, the power consumption will be 10.5kWh or more. The input current needs to be 44A or more. This will bring risks and burdens to the safety of the existing power grid and wires in the building. Moreover, it may be necessary to change the existing circuits of the building to cause you a headache and trouble.

B. The only weakness of ROKEKA RGB products compared to DMX products is that they cannot display text or images, as they are not point-controllable.
